Compare the cost of the glass
Use the quantity you will actually pour. For illustration, a $30 bottle containing 750 mL provides fifteen 50 mL measures: $2 per measure before mixers, shipping, and tax. At a 60 mL pour, that same bottle costs $2.40 per measure. These are arithmetic examples, not current merchant prices or recommended serving sizes.
For a finished cocktail, divide the delivered pack price by the number of bottles or cans you plan to serve. A cheaper pack can still be a poor purchase if it leaves you with several drinks you do not enjoy. Consider the smallest suitable quantity for a first try.
How to make your own useful comparison
If you try two mixers, use the same citrus, sweetener, ice, and measure for both. Note whether the smoke is still noticeable after mixing, whether the finish feels sweet or bitter, and whether you would make that drink again. Record the recipe alongside your opinion so another reader can understand the result.
Keep ready-to-drink cocktails in a separate comparison: adding the same mixers to an already finished drink changes the question. “Which do I prefer for an easy evening pour?” is a useful question of its own.
